About the event

About this Opportunity:

Solopreneurs are often overlooked in the realm of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) or anti-oppression, which typically caters to large organizations and certain positions of an organization such as HR, EDs, direct service providers. Our goal is to shift away from common DEI conversation and guide you through a more holistic and transformational understanding of DEI’s new chapter. Perhaps you’ve asked yourself “What does DEI mean to me and my work?”, “Is there a way to connect it to my company?” or “What are ways to operationalize it daily and make it meaningful?”

“Small but Mighty” is a specific program designed in partnership with In.Visible Paradigms, Idea Labs and Consultants for Good to provide an opportunity to empower nonprofit consultants to align their personal commitment for social justice with their business journey, fostering meaningful change.

A Unique Opportunity

Since 2020, there’s been a myriad of “DEI 101”. But most seem to miss the opportunity to talk directly to you, right? We are offering a relevant and inspiring workshop series to not only lead you to DEI principles and approaches, but provide an energizing workshop to go from theoretical right into practical. By the end, you’ll be ready to:

  • Link personal values to organizational DEI role
  • Confidently identify and incorporate DEI values into various aspects of your business, from client meetings to contracted work.
  • Implement practical steps derived from group questions and discussions.
  • Shift away from harmful power dynamics present in professionalism that could hinder or stall DEI approaches

In each of the four sessions, we'll focus on:

  1. Naming fears, motivations and challenges
  2. Connecting DEI to your work
  3. Design Clinic/Hot Seat DEI Coaching
  4. Creating a DEI Action Plan

Session Dates:

11:00 am to 1:00 pm MST on Thursday April 25, Thursday May 2, Wednesday May 8, & Thursday May 16, 2024
